The poetry and passion of Lorca's classic Blood Wedding (Bodas de Sangre) is relocated from the picturesque realm of rural Spain to the vibrant and colorful world of Veracruz, México. Adapted and directed by Laura Crotte, a Teatro Vista member, Al son que me toques, Lorca is performed in Spanish. With traditional music and dance, this inspired adaptation emanates the energy and spirit of Veracruz, while remaining loyal to Lorca's famous tragedy. A Flor De Piel and former members of Sones de México provide the music.

La poesía y tragedia del clasico de Lorca, Bodas de Sangre transportado de la pintoresca vieja España al mundo colorido y vibrante de Veracruz, México. Al son que me toques, Lorca se presenta en Español con música y danza tradicional veracruzana. Esta inspirada adaptación refleja la riqueza cultural de Veracruz y a la vez permanece fiel a la famosa tragedia de Lorca. Con músicos de A Flor de Piel de Chicago y ex-miembros del aclamado grupo Sones de México

Blood Wedding

From a tragic story read in a local newspaper, Federico García Lorca composes a master piece about forbidden passions and betrayal. Unforgiving pain from an old family feud is the fatal heir and dowry for three entangled lovers. In this vibrant musical, Laura Crotte retells both Lorca's classic play and the history of cultural mixture in Veracruz, México.

Basado en una trágica noticia de un periódico local, Federico García Lorca escribe una pieza maestra de pasiones prohibidas y traición. La violencia y el dolor de una vieja rencilla familiar son la herencia fatal y la dote de tres intrincados amantes. En este vibrante musical, Laura Crotte explora en el personaje de La Novia, la vida interior en busqueda de identidad Al son que me toques, Lorca recuenta el clásico de Lorca así como la historia de las mezclas culturales en Veracruz, México.

Al son que me toques, Lorca will be presented at Goodman's Latino Theatre Festival August 8th, 9th & 10th and at the Raven Theatre (East Stage) in Edgewater August 14th - 31st. (Click for Tickets)
